Canoa Quebrada is a rustic place that lies very picturesque at the crest of a red sandstone massive. The former hippie village is a tourist place today. At the meantime the village is commercial oriented and is appreciated by Brazilians as well as for guests of all nationalities as a weekend destination in the vicinity of Fortaleza. Through to a considerable amount of Pousadas, hotels, restaurants (also int. kitchen), as well as bars and shops, the place can become rather full in the high season. The beach directly in the village is not suited for kiting, as there is mostly lively being. To drive at the beach along the numerous Barrachas is prohibited, but there are accesses to the west and east. The beach is not all too wide and therefore not particularly suited to build up or to store kite material. The wind direction is side shore from the right until side onshore. The wind waves break directly at the beach and there are no known reefs in the vicinity.
