The river mouth of the "Rio Jaguaribe" is an enormous extensive basin with mangroves growing on the banks and offshore sand banks. The simplest way to reach the spot is from  the western developed part. The eastern shore, which is idle land, is only accessible from  Canoa Quebrada and you will need a 4x4 or buggy. There are parking lots at the harbour in the area of the Barrachas. To reach the kite spot take the path in direction to the lighthouse (Ponttal de Maceio). After a short walk at the beach through the mangroves you will get to an extensive beach that offers an impressing wing through the lighthouse and the surrounding sandstone rocks. The offshore sand banks block the swell and you will find only little wind waves. Partially died mangroves are in bank vicinity under the water surface that are grown-over with oysters. Therefore it's better to avoid this part and stay away from the beach. The wind direction is side onshore coming from the right until onshore, dependent in which part of the mouth zone you are. According to low tide and high tide there can be a strong current.
