The season of 2011 actually never ended and continued right in the season 2012. During the month between February and May when it usually has some rain - this year was completely different. Accumulated 5 days of rain the entire "low season" was showing flawless conditions. Rain water that is usually filling the wide spread lagoons in this region are mostly dry. This gives an effect on the thermal effect and the tradewinds - meaning that already in July the average windspeed increased about 2 knots. Nevertheless the big lagoons like "Lagoa Azul", "Lagoa Paraiso" and "Lagoa Pinguela" - located in the proximity of Prea still have very high water levels as a result from the epic rainfall 4 years ago.
According to this trend is highly reccommended to take small gear in order to get the best out of the conditions.
