In Ceara there is primarily wind swell. The waves along the coast are depending on wind strength, ebb and flood and usually between 1 and 2 meters high. reinforced by ground swell and rarely by deep pressure areas with storms on the atlantic the size of the waves can reach 2,5 meters. Only few spots along the shore have specific bathymetrical patterns that allow a clean and even higher wave pattern.
The bathymetrical conditions change going further north east starting with the area around Moitas. A lot of sediments transported by the local rivers created a flat and shallow shore. The most extreme spot might be Arpoeiras where you hardly can sea the atlantic at low tide.
